A path opening to a field with forest in the distance

Start before you’re ready

You’ve probably heard this saying:
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

While I do not condone eating elephants, it puts me in mind of my fifth truth:

Small steps can build empires.
Consistency compounds.

So often we want perfection.
We want to understand everything before we begin.
We don’t want to get it wrong.

(Yes. Me too).

But perfection is procrastination in disguise.

The best way to build something impressive is through a first, wobbly, imperfect step.

And that’s okay.

This week, take one small step:

  • Open your banking app if you’ve been avoiding it
  • Move €10 into an emergency fund
  • Make one extra payment toward a debt

Just one.
That’s enough.

Because small steps don’t change everything overnight.

They change your direction.

And direction builds empires.
