There are certain inalienable truths.
And the Seven Truths are mine.
I repeat them tirelessly.
They are the foundations to my financial philosophy.
My work is riddled with them and shaped by them.
So it’s only fitting that I introduce you to them. Are you ready?
My first truth is this:
You weren’t taught this. But you can learn. And it can be fun.
Learning now? That’s badass.
It’s a travesty that a core life skill – managing money – isn’t more widely taught. But have no fear. I am here to right this wrong.
Learning as an adult can feel a bit tricky, especially if you (or society) have spent a lifetime telling you it’s beyond you.
Spoiler alert: it’s not.
More likely, you were just taught in a way that doesn’t make sense to you.
When people tell me they’re “not good at money”, I think (in the kindest possible way), well duh.
Could you cook risotto perfectly the first time without a recipe?
Did you instinctively know how to play paddleball before someone showed you?
Were you brilliant at your job before you were trained?
Are you one of those freaks of nature who could fold a fitted sheet or do the Fate of Ophelia dance without watching a YouTube tutorial 47 times?
No?
Exactly.
You learned. Or at least know you could. (If you were inclined).
And that’s where badassery comes in.
Because choosing to learn something that protects your future?
Choosing to look after yourself?
Choosing to do something that used to intimidate you?
That’s badass.
I love badasses.
So, I’ve got two questions for you, because you’re not getting out of this that easily.
- When were you last truly badass? Proper gob-smacking badass. How did it feel?
- When did you last absolutely, proud-as-a-peacock, impress yourself by learning something new?
Answer one (or both if you’re an overachiever, hi there).
Oh, and one last thing…
100% of my clients have described my programs as fun.
I’m calling that empirical evidence.
